Well I love a bit of self development, and always looking for new books to read and things to implement on my journey that will improve any area of my life.
Following my move into my new home, I have felt the need for new routines. The new home has a much nicer energy and feel to it and is making me want to move forward. Mentioning in a couple of lifestyle groups I am part of that I am looking to start off by creating a new morning routine, I was introduced to the the book The Miracle Morning – The Miracle Morning: The 6 Habits That Will Transform Your Life Before 8AM: Change your life with one of the world’s highest rated self help books. I added it to my audible straight away (I love having books to listen to while I edit) and finally started listening to it yesterday, committing to give this morning thing a go today (I haven’t fully made it through the book yet so this morning is a bit of a trial run).
I have to say if I have to get up early I am not great at it, I always end up having a bad nights sleep worrying about waking up on time and last night was no different. So when I woke up at 6:30 this morning I can safely say I did not want to get out of bed, I did do it though and followed the ideas in the book to help you feel more awake (not sure they worked lol) and went on to do 2 of the tasks listed – Exercise and Silence. I can’t tell you if it has helped, at the moment I just feel tired and unfortunately that makes me less focused. I also gave up before I finished the exercise as I my stomach wanted food lol. I am however committed to doing this for at least the next two weeks!
Lessons learnt this morning – I need to have a plan – its no good sitting on my yoga matt with no idea what exercises to do (It makes you give up very easily) and if I want to do to the other tasks I need to have them prepped and ready. So today this is on my todo list! I will have lists of affirmations and goals to visualise with it.
I won’t be blogging on this every day but what I will do is keep a note every day of how this goes and collate it into one post a week for you all – the ups and the downs.
